11.1. Family 11.01 – Herbs and Spices

	Herbs - Dried	11.01.01.02	Herbs - Dried Type is to be used for products that consist of a herb that has been dried.
Spices	Spices – Mustard	11.01.02.01	Spices – Mustard Type has been retired
	Spices – Ginger	11.01.02.02	Spices – Ginger Type is to be used for products which consist of ginger root and dried ginger powder.
	Spices - Curry Powder and Paste	11.01.02.03	Spices - Curry Powder and Paste Type has been retired.
	Spices - Pepper	11.01.02.04	Spices - Pepper Type is to be used for products which consist of peppercorns and dried pepper powder.
	Spices - Mixed	11.01.02.05	Spices - Mixed Type is to be used for products which consist of two or more types of spice.
	Spices – Chilli	11.01.02.06	Spices – Chilli Type has been introduced to accommodate products which consist of whole or chopped chillies, dried chillies and chilli powder. Paprika is categorised separately.
	Spices – Turmeric	11.01.02.07	Spices – Turmeric Type has been introduced to accommodate products which consist of turmeric and turmeric powder.
	Spices – Prepared Mustard	11.01.02.08	Spices – Prepared Mustard Type is to be used for products which consist of prepared mustard. It must not be used for mustard powder.
	Spices – Mustard Powder	11.01.02.09	Spices – Mustard Powder Type is to be used for products which consist of mustard powder or grains. It must not be used for Prepared Mustard of any description.
	Spices – Curry Paste	11.01.02.10	Spices - Curry Paste Type is to be used for products which consist of prepared curry paste. It must not be used for Curry Powder preparations.
	Spices – Curry Powder	11.01.02.11	Spices - Curry Powder Type is to be used for products which consist of prepared curry powder. It must not be used for Curry Paste preparations.
	Spices – Paprika	11.01.02.12	Spices – Paprika Type is to be used for products which consist of Paprika and Paprika powder when described as such.
	Spices - Other	11.01.02.99	Spices - Other Type is to be used for other products that consist of spices and which cannot be more appropriately included in another type. The introduction of the chilli and turmeric types should greatly reduce the number of products being included in this type.
