17. Soups, Broths and Sauces

17.1. Family 17.01 – Soups

It should be used for canned tomato soup and also for canned soups which contain vegetable and meat such as pea and ham soup.
	Canned Soups – Other	17.01.01.99	Canned Soups – Other Type should be used for all other types of canned soup that do not contain vegetables as a principal and characterising ingredient. It should be used for canned chicken soup, oxtail soup and soups where the principal ingredient is noodles or pasta.
Dehydrated Soup Powders	Vegetable Soups and Broth Powders	17.01.02.01	Vegetable Soups and Broth Powders Type should be used for all dehydrated soups where vegetable(s) are the principal and characterising ingredient. It should be used for tomato soup and also for soups which contain vegetable and meat such as pea and ham soup.
	Dehydrated Soups - Other	17.01.02.99	Dehydrated Soups – Other Type should be used for all other types of dehydrated soup that do not contain vegetables as a principal and characterising ingredient. It should be used for chicken soup, oxtail soup and soups where the principal ingredient is noodles or pasta
Ready-Prepared Soups	Ready-Prepared Soups	17.01.03.01	Ready-Prepared Soups Type should be used for all soups that require no preparation other than heating before consumption.

17.2. Family 17.02 – Sauces and Condiments

	Sauce - “Cook-In”	17.02.01.06	Sauce - “Cook-In” Type is to be used for products that consist of a sauce that is added to other ingredients before the whole is cooked.
	Sauce - Soy	17.02.01.07	Sauce - Soy Type is to be used for products described as such.
	Sauce – Chilli	17.02.01.08	Sauce – Chilli Type is to be used for products described as such.
	Sauces - Other	17.02.01.99	Sauces - Other Type is to be used for sauces which cannot be more appropriately included in another type. The introduction of the Chilli Sauce type should reduce the number of products being included here.
Condiments	Vinegar	17.02.02.01	Vinegar Type is to be used for products described as such.
	Non-Brewed Condiment	17.02.02.02	Non-Brewed Condiment Type is to be used for products described as such.
	Salt - Table	17.02.02.03	Salt - Table Type is to be used for products described as such.
	Condiments – Other	17.02.02.99	Condiments - Other Type is to be used for sauces which cannot be more appropriately included in another type. It must not be used for mustard.
Pickles and Chutneys	Pickles	17.02.03.01	Pickles Type is to be used for products described as such.
	Chutneys	17.02.03.02	Chutneys Type is to be used for products described as such. It should also be used for products described as relish.
Gravy	Gravy Powder	17.02.04.01	Gravy Powder Type is to be used for products intended for the preparation of gravy that are in powder form.
	Gravy Granules	17.02.04.02	Gravy Granules Type is to be used for products intended for the preparation of gravy that are in granular form.
	Gravy Salt	17.02.04.03	Gravy Salt Type is to be used for products described as such.
	Gravy - Prepared	17.02.04.04	Gravy - Prepared Type is to be used for products that consist of gravy that is ready for consumption without further preparation other than heating.
Stock Cubes	Stock Cubes	17.02.05.01	Stock Cubes Type is to be used for products described as such.
