15.1. Family 15.01 – Nuts and Nut Products, Snacks

Nuts	Nuts - Almonds	15.01.01.01	Nuts – Almonds Type is to be used for almonds, both in shell and shelled. It is not to be used for products containing almonds such as marzipan.
	Nuts - Brazil Nuts	15.01.01.02	Nuts - Brazil Nuts Type is to be used for brazil nuts, both in shell and shelled.
	Nuts - Peanuts	15.01.01.03	Nuts - Peanuts Type is to be used for peanuts, both in shell and shelled. It is not to be used for products containing peanuts such as peanut butter or for peanuts that have been processed by roasting and/or salting.
	Nuts - Cashew Nuts	15.01.01.04	Nuts - Cashew Nuts Type is to be used for cashew nuts, both in shell and shelled. It is not to be used for products containing cashew nuts or for cashew nuts that have been processed by roasting and/or salting.
	Nuts - Walnuts	15.01.01.05	Nuts - Walnuts Type is to be used for walnuts, both in shell and shelled.
	Nuts – Pistachios	15.01.01.06	Nuts – Pistachios Type is to be used for pistachios, both in shell and shelled.
	Nuts – Hazelnuts	15.01.01.07	Nuts – Hazelnuts Type is to be used for hazelnuts, both in shell and shelled.
	Nuts – Coconut	15.01.01.08	Nuts – Coconut Type to be used for Coconut and products where coconut is the only or main constituent. Coconut Milk should be included here. Confectionary made from coconut should be included in sugar confectionary.
	Nuts - Other	15.01.01.99	Nuts - Other Type is to be used for all other types of nuts, both in shell and shelled. It must not be used for seeds.
Nut Products	Marzipan	15.01.02.01	Marzipan Type should be used for all products of this type.
	Peanuts – Salted and/or Roasted	15.01.02.02	Peanuts – Salted and/or Roasted Type is to be used for peanuts that have been salted and/or roasted. This type has been altered to accommodate salted and roasted peanuts because in many cases peanuts are subjected to both processes. This type is not to be used for other types of nuts that may have been salted and/or roasted.
	Peanuts - Roasted	15.01.02.03	Peanuts – Roasted Type has been retired and combined with the Peanuts – Salted and/or Roasted..
	Peanut Butter	15.01.02.04	Peanut Butter Type is to be used for all products of this type. It is not to be used for butter made from any other type of nut.
	Cashew Nuts – Salted and/or Roasted	15.01.02.03	Cashew Nuts – Salted and/or Roasted Type is to be used for cashew nuts that have been salted and/or roasted. This type is not to be used for other types of nuts that may have been salted and/or roasted.
	Nut Products - Other	15.01.02.99	Nut Products - Other Type is to be used for nut products which cannot be more appropriately included in another type.
Snacks	Potato Crisps	15.01.03.01	Potato Crisps Type is to be used for all types and flavours of crisps where potato is the principal ingredient. It must not be used for snacks where the principal ingredient is maize or any other cereal.
	Corn Snacks	15.01.03.02	Corn Snacks Type is to be used for all types and flavours of snack foods where maize/corn is the principal ingredient. It must not be used for snacks where the principal ingredient is potato or any other cereal.
	Snacks - Other	15.01.03.99	Snacks - Other Type is to be used for snack food products which cannot be more appropriately included in another type. It is not to be used for seeds.
